No. 24 USC Women’s Tennis Defeated By Top Ranked Longhorns

The No. 24 USC women’s tennis team fell to No. 1 Texas today (Feb. 4) in Austin Texas. With the loss, USC drops to 5-2 while Texas improves to 6-0. 
 
The top ranked Longhorns got out to a strong start in doubles and never let up, hauling in the doubles point early after wins on courts one and three. Texas’ duo of Khirin/Chavatipon defeated Naomi Cheong and Snow Han 6-1 on center court before the doubles point was won on court three with Zeynalova/Zein beating Grace Piper and Nathalie Rodilosso
 
Moving into singles with a one-point advantage, the Longhorns never let up, winning three straight matches to clinch the victory. The Trojans lone point of the day came from No. 2 ranked Maddy Sieg on center court, as she defeated Nicole Khirin 6-4, 1-6, 6-0.
