OJAI, Calif. – Top-seeded Stanford men’s tennis opened the Pac-12 Tournament in dominant fashion, blitzing eighth-seeded Washington, 4-0, at Libbey Park.

Stanford picked up wins in the top two doubles positions to take an early lead in the match, 1-0. Ranked in the top-50 nationally, the duo of Max Basing and Nico Godsick got things started with a 6-3 win on court one before the pair of Samir Banerjee and Nishesh Basavareddy tallied a 6-3 victory of their own on court two.

The Cardinal momentum carried to singles, where Stanford won all six first sets while giving up only 10 combined games across the six courts. Neel Rajesh was first in the clubhouse with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court four, while Hudson Rivera picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six. Nishesh Basavareddy stayed unbeaten against Pac-12 foes this season, downing Washington’s top player on court one, 6-1, 6-3 to clinch the match.
