No. 22 Men's Tennis Downs Ducks 4-1


OREGON– In the team’s second-to-last match of the regular season, No. 22 Arizona State men’s tennis (15-8, 3-2) topped #57 Oregon (14-11, 3-4) 4-1 in Friday’s Pac-12 matchup, with junior Murphy Cassone clinching the match for ASU. The 15-win season for the Sun Devils marks just the second time since the program’s reinstatement in 2018 that the team has hit the 15-win mark.  

The regular season concludes tomorrow, April 20, against Pac-12 opponent Washington at 1 p.m. MST before the team heads off to the Pac-12 Tournament in Ojai, California April 24-27. 

The Sun Devils secured the doubles point against the Ducks after wins on courts one and two, including the duo of Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone topping the 46 ranked doubles pair in the ITA polls. The pair is 8-1 in doubles play this season. 

Four Sun Devils picked up first-set wins against the Ducks, including Constantinos Koshis and Max McKennon whose straight-set victories pushed ASU to a 3-0 lead.

Jacob Bullard fell in the second set, and the Sun Devil lead was 3-1. Cassone battled in the second set tiebreak winning 7-2 and clinched the match for ASU.
