Five From Men’s Tennis Earn All-Conference Awards


SAN RAMON– On Tuesday, the Pac-12 Conference announced their 2024 All-Conference awards, which was highlighted by five members of Sun Devil men’s tennis. Murphy Cassone and Bor Artnak earned first-team ranks, Max McKennon picked up second team honors, and Jacob Bullard and Roi Ginat followed as honorable mentions. 

Despite picking up no major conference player of the year award, the Sun Devils had the highest nationally ranked players in each respective category in today’s ITA polls. Cassone posts a Pac-12 Best #11 singles while Artnak owns the best national ranking for a freshman in the Pac-12 at #64. The doubles pair in Murphy Cassone and Jacob Bullard is also the highest ranked Pac-12 pair in the national rankings this week at #40. 

Murphy Cassone, First Team

The junior from Overland Park, Kansas has posted a 13-6 record on the year. He’s been named Pac-12 Player of the Week twice this season, once after upsetting then-No. 4 Ozan Baris and in the final week of the regular season after finishing the weekend 4-0 in his four matches. He’s found success with teammate Jacob Bullard in doubles, as the pair has won 11 of their last 12 doubles matches, including two wins over nationally ranked opponents. 

Bor Artnak, First Team

The freshman has been named to his first All-Conference team. Competing primarily from the second position, Artnak has posted A 12-3 singles record on the season, with two wins coming from the first position. In the early months of the season, Artnak was ranked alongside McKennon after seven straight wins as a doubles pair to open the season. The two are 10-4 on the year. 

Max McKennon, Second Team

The senior has an 11-4 singles record on the season, seven of which have come from the second position. His season was highlighted by an upset of #41 Jacob Bickerseth in the team’s final match of the ITA Indoor Tournament. McKennon has a 14-5 doubles record including being ranked alongside Artnak after seven straight wins as a doubles pair to open the season. The two are 10-4 on the year. 

Jacob Bullard, Honorable Mention

The senior is 9-13 on the season in singles play, but earned an upset over #125 Patorn Hanchaikul back in February. He has found late…
