Hudd Named CSC Academic All-District


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee men’s tennis graduate student Emile Hudd was named to the 2023 Academic All-District Men’s Tennis Team by College Sports Communicators Tuesday.
 
The distinctions recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Hudd is the sixth Vol all-time to be earn CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors. Prior to Hudd, Tennessee’s last such honor was in 2011, when John-Patrick Smith received the recognition. Hudd achieved All-District honors by holding a 3.75 GPA through graduate school, after recording a 3.61 GPA as an undergraduate.
 
On court this season, Hudd secured first-team All-SEC honors. The two-time SEC Player of the Week has logged a 19-9 singles record this season, including an 18-8 mark in dual singles action. On the doubles courts, Hudd is 27-6 overall this year, surpassing the 25-win mark in doubles for a second consecutive season.
 
Hudd ascended to a career-high ITA national singles ranking of No. 27 this season and logged seven ranked singles victories, including a pair of top-15 triumphs this spring.
 
Hudd and the ninth-ranked Vols play host to No. 8 South Carolina Saturday at 3 p.m. ET in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Tickets for the match can be purchased here.
