Virginia Men's Tennis | Dietrich Earns Sixth Freshman of the Week Award

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia first-year Dylan Dietrich has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (April 16) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Dietrich went 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles as the Cavaliers picked up a pair of road victories at Clemson and Georgia Tech to close out the regular season. Dietrich picked up a 7-5, 6-3 win against Noa Vukadin of Clemson on Friday and dominated in a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Richard Biagiotti on Sunday at Georgia Tech. In doubles, he and partner Alex Kiefer won 6-1 on Friday before winning a tiebreaker on Sunday to clinch the doubles point against Georgia Tech.

Dietrich finished conference play with an 8-2 record in singles and a 7-2 mark in doubles.  He is ranked No. 48 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

Dietrich has won the ACC Freshman of the Week award in six of the 14 weeks this season. No other conference freshman has won it more than once this year.
