SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Texas A&M men’s tennis team opens its dual match schedule Wednesday, January 18 versus San Diego, with first serve is set for 2 p.m. CT at the Hogan Tennis Center.
The Aggies look to hit the ground running following a productive week of preparation at the Sherwood Intercollegiate. The Maroon & White recorded eight ranked singles wins to go along with a ranked doubles win. No. 44 Pierce Rollins, No. 88 Raphael Perot, Noah Schachter, Giulio Perego and Kenner Taylor registered victories over ranked opponents in singles, while the pairing of JC Roddick and Perego added the ranked doubles win.
Schachter, a team captain in his final season, led the Aggies with three ranked singles wins versus USC’s No. 38 Makk, No. 65 Frye and No. 79 Dostanic. His performances earned him the title of Sherwood Intercollegiate Singles Champion.
Texas A&M has played five dual matches against the Toreros, holding a 4-1 record. The most recent matchup was at the Mitchell Tennis Center in 2015, when the Aggies claimed a 4-1 victory.
