WACO, Texas – The Notre Dame men’s tennis team concluded their fall competitive season this week at the NCAA individual championships. Sebastian Dominko and Peter Nad, preseason ranked #46 in the country, represented the Irish in the doubles draw while Dominko, preseason #13, represented in the singles tournament.

On Tuesday, Dominko took to the court in the NCAA Singles Championships for the 3rd time in his career. He lined up across from a senior from UC Irvine ranked #121 in the country. The Notre Dame junior would fall by a pair of 6-4 sets to end his fall singles schedule. The next day, he would compete in his 3rd NCAA Doubles Championships alongside freshman partner Peter Nad, appearing in his first career postseason tournament. The duo quickly jumped out to a 6-2 first set win against their opponents from Michigan. The Wolverines, who came into the fall ranked #17 in the country, would respond to take the second set 6-3 forcing a deciding third set tiebreak to determine the winner. Despite a slim lead after the first change of ends and saving a match point at 8-9, Dominko and Nad would come up just short and lose the match 11-9.

Overall, Notre Dame competed at 10 different events this fall, including 2 ITF events. Luis Llorens kicked off his career with an undefeated weekend at Louisville compiling a 7-0 record to win his respective flights pairing with Jayanth Devaiah in doubles. Devaiah would be runner up in his singles flight in Louisville as well making his opening fall weekend a 6-1 campaign.

At the ITA Midwest Regionals hosted by Michigan State, the Irish had two teams advance to the doubles quarterfinals. Yu Zhang and Jamie Corsillo would claim their highest ever ranked doubles victory taking out the #30 ranked team while Dominko and Nad would also advance to the final 8. Zhang would win 5 singles matches to claim the consolation singles title over teammate Chase Thompson.

Dominko would clinch the ITA Conference Masters Singles title while he and Nad would be runners-up in doubles, both results earning qualifying bids into the NCAA Individual Championships.
