STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men’s tennis continued its winning ways, downing rival California, 4-1, at Taube Family Tennis Center. The Cardinal improves to 6-3 this season and 5-0 at home.
The Cardinal claimed the early lead in doubles with wins on courts two and three. Cal picked up an early lead with a win on court one, but Aryan Chaudhary and Harsh Hemang Parikh leveled the doubles equation with a 6-3 win on court three. Max Basing and Nico Godsick secured the advantage for Stanford on court two, 6-4.
Momentum continued into singles for Stanford, with Neel Rajesh quickly winning on court six, 6-2, 6-1, and Max Basing adding a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court two. The Golden Bears pulled a point back on court one, but Hudson Rivera shut the door on a comeback with the clinching point on court four, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Stanford returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 29 at San Diego. The match begins at 1 p.m.
