The eight seeded players for the Delray Beach Open are set with world No. 8 Taylor Fritz topping the list.

Main draw play for the ATP Tour 250 event is Feb. 13-19 at Delray Beach. The tournament is the first North American hard court event of the outdoor season, and one of just 10 ATP Tour events in the United States.

Following top seed Fritz is fellow American Tommy Paul, third seed Canadian Denis Shapovalov and fourth seed Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia. The top four seeds receive first-round byes in the 28-player tournament.

Fritz, appearing in Delray Beach for a sixth time, is currently the top-ranked American. He beat Rafael Nadal to capture the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells title and again at the year-end ATP Finals, picking up two more titles in between.

25-year-old Palm Beach County resident Paul outperformed Fritz (and all other American men) at this year’s Australian Open, however. He reached the semifinals at the year’s first Major at the Australian Open last month with wins over fellow Delray Beach participants Ben Shelton and Jenson Brooksby, cracking the world’s Top 20 rankings for the first time at No. 19 in the process.

Last year, Paul entered the Delray Beach Open as a wild card and reached the semifinals.

Third-seeded Shapovalov and fourth-seeded Kecmanovic round out the top quartet.

Rounding out the eight seeds – all of whom are ranked in the Top 40 – are fifth seed Yoshihito Nishioka, the 2020 runner-up; sixth-seed Brooksby, who defeated Australian Open second seed Casper Ruud last month; seventh-seed Jiri Lehecka who reached the Australian Open quarterfinals in just his fifth appearance at a Grand Slam main draw; and eighth-seeded John Isner, who is the all-time ATP Tour ace leader and holds the Delray Beach Open record of 30 aces in a match.
