Gators jump three spots on ITA’s Team rankings following a dominant three-match homestand to open the dual match schedule.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Tennis moved up three spots to number 20 in the January 24th edition of ITA’s team rankings following a dominant weekend performance to open the Gators’ spring dual match schedule.
The weekend featured three decisive wins over The Citadel, North Florida, and Southern Methodist. The gators won all three doubles points during the weekend, and showcased their exceptional depth by winning every matchup on courts two, three, four, and five on the weekend.
The jump in the rankings coincides with Florida’s newcomers passing their first tests, with January enrollees Adhithya Ganesan (three singles wins), Kevin Edengren (two singles wins), and Henry Jefferson (one singles win) going undefeated in singles during their first home weekend.
The Orange and Blue next head to Chapel Hill, NC for ITA’s Kickoff Weekend, where they will first match up with Wake Forest. Following their battle with the Demon Deacons, the Gators will clash with either North Carolina or Illinois.
