Eight Blue Devils Selected ITA Scholar-Athletes

DURHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced that eight Blue Devils were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Andrew Dale, Michael Heller, Faris Khan, Connor Krug, Jake Krug, Teddy Truwit, Niroop Vallabhaneni and Andrew Zhang were all selected to the exclusive list. Dale and Heller were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second time in their careers, while Khan and Vallabhaneni were selected for the third consecutive season. Zhang picked up his fourth-straight honor. It also continues a strong run of academic success, with all 10 Blue Devils being named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team earlier this summer.

Duke as a team was also acknowledged by the organization after being named to the 2023 ITA All-Academic Team.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
