TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– The Alabama men’s tennis team will host the ITA Southern Regional Championships beginning on Thursday at 9 a.m. CT at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

- Qualifying Round: Oct. 13
- Main Draw: Oct. 14 – 18
- Competition will begin at 9 a.m. CT each day

First-Round Matchups
- Roan Jones opens play in the main draw against David Jeanne-Grandinot of Alabama State
- German Samofalov will play against UAB’s Michal Lusovsky
- Newcomer Matias Ponce De Leon will comptete in his first match for The Tide versus Luka Petrovic of Tulane
- Filip Planinsek, Joao Ferreira and Enzo Aguiard both have a first-round bye in the qualifying singles round
A Look at the Fall
- The Tide hosted the Alabama Four In The Fall tournament Sept. 30-Oct.2 with Joao Ferreira and Zack Foster being crowned the champions at the event
- Freshman Roan Jones is undefeated in singles play, winning his sixth consecutive match at UA’s home tournament
- Filip Planinsek and German Samofalov compted at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
- Planinsek, ranked No. 13, took down Texas A&M’s No. 19-ranked Noah Schachter in the singles consolation draw
- The No. 33 doubles duo of Samofalov and Planinsek upset the No. 10-ranked Sema Pankin and Eleftherios Neos of Portland in the consolation doubles round
