LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women’s tennis head coach Mark Beckham announced that Lily Mould will join the program for the 2023 fall season.
The Birmingham, England-native transfers to UofL from the University of Oregon where she picked up over 30 wins in doubles and 24 wins in singles over the last three seasons. Last season, Mould was competing at the No. 4 spot in singles and No. 1 and No. 2 in doubles before missing the second half of PAC-12 play with an injury.
Before attending Oregon, Mould took home the gold medal in both junior singles and doubles events at the 2019 European Maccabi Games. The 2017 U18 National champion was ranked as high as 13th in Great Britain’s U18 rankings. Mould has represented Great Britain at the Gyro 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival.
“Coach Fulton and I are excited to welcome Lily to our program,” said Beckham. “Lily brings a wealth of experience to the team, which will be needed next season since we will be much younger. Lily has played in the PAC-12 for a few years and already understands high level collegiate tennis. Talent is only about half of what is needed to be successful at our level. You also need experience and confidence, which Lily has a lot of. She wants to play the best and that is what she will get playing in the ACC. Lily will have an immediate impact on our lineup in singles and doubles. She is committed to her craft and only wants to improve and see how good she can be, which is part of the reason she chose to come here. Lily knows she will be pushed here and looks forward to the challenge of being an impact player for us next season. We are thrilled she chose Louisville!”
