TUCSON, Ariz. – #51 Arizona bested #54 Colorado 4-1 Saturday, April 15 at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
The Wildcats took today’s doubles point in two swift matches on courts two and three. Arizona tandem Belen Nevenhoven and Midori Castillo finished first at three doubles, defeating the Buffs’ Ellen Puzak and Betina Tokac 6-3. Shortly after, Salma Ziouti and Reece Carter clinched the point for the ‘Cats at two doubles. The Wildcat freshman and graduate student duo bested Mila Stanojevic and Elys Ventura 6-3.

In singles competition, three Wildcats took their victories in straight sets. Freshman Tanvi Narendran dominated her opponent 6-0 in both sets to give Arizona the first singles point of the day. Also controlling her court was freshman Carter, who put up 6-2 and 6-1 in her sets. Clinching the match for the ‘Cats was Ziouti in fierce sets of 6-1 and 7-5.
Arizona Women’s Tennis is now 16-11 overall, 11-3 at home and 3-6 in Pac-12 play. They are back at home next Saturday, April 22 to host Arizona State in their final match of the regular season.
