GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following a stellar weekend on home courts at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex, the No. 19 Florida men’s tennis team will head to No. 25 Texas A&M tomorrow for their lone match of the week.
The top-25 matchup takes place on Saturday with a 2 p.m. ET first serve and will mark the Gators 10th meeting with a top-25 ranked team this season. In those matches, Florida has a 3-6 record with wins over No. 10 Baylor, No. 12 Florida State and No. 18 Auburn.
Florida (10-7, 5-2 SEC) carries a four-match winning streak against the Aggies (11-8, 4-3 SEC) and will look to notch the program’s second win in College Station. The lone win came in 2021 when Florida defeated Texas A&M, 5-2. Texas A&M holds the series advantage 10-8 over Florida. Under Head Coach Bryan Shelton, the Gators are deadlocked at 7-7 against the Aggies.
UNDEFEATED HOME STAND
After a pair of 6-1 victories over No. 55 Arkansas and No. 18 Auburn last weekend, Florida improved their winning streak to four matches and jumped three spots to No. 19 in the ITA’s Team Rankings on Tuesday. In both matches, the Gators won the doubles point and went on to win five of six singles matches.
DOMINANT DOUBLES
When winning the doubles point, the Gators hold a 9-3 record and have won the doubles point in 12 of 17 matches this season (70.6%). In SEC play, Florida has won five of seven doubles points utilizing Grant/Nefve at one, Bonetto/Nirundorn at two and Braswell/Greif at three in all seven conference matches.

Texas A&M is one of three teams in the SEC with at-least four top-125 ranked singles players and utilize No. 39 Trey Hilderbrand/Noah Schachter at the top of their doubles lineup. Texas A&M is 2-6 against top-20 ranked opponents, but is 8-2 with home court advantage at Mitchell Tennis Center this season.
Most recently, the Aggies fell to then-No. 20 Tennessee, 6-1, in Knoxville after beating No. 48 Alabama, 4-3, at home. The lone Aggie to win in both matches’ singles play was No. 65 Raphael Perot on court two.
