COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland women’s tennis team (8-1) won its first match of the weekend doubleheader 6-1 over William & Mary (3-2) on Saturday at the Junior Tennis Champions Center.
The Terps lost the doubles point with only one win on court 3 from Jojo Bach and Hannah McColgan‘s 6-2 victory over Gurholt/Pell.
In the singles, Selma Cadar, Marta Perez Mur, and Kallista Liu all had straight set wins to give the Terps a 3-1 advantage over the Tribe. On court 3, Minorka Miranda clinched the win for the Terps with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sofiya Kuzina. The final points of the match came from Hannah McColgan with her 6-3, 6-3 straight set win, and Jojo Bach in a 10-4 tiebreak.
