Tennis Completes Second Day of H-E-B Invitational Competition


WACO, Texas — University of Missouri women’s tennis team continues with strong effort at Baylor University on the second day of the H-E-B Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30.  

The Tigers picked up three wins for the day with two doubles and one singles victory. The doubles pair of senior Mae Canete and junior Cristine Canete captured a doubles win against Denver in the morning session and Illinois later in the day. This totals three victories for the doubles squad for the weekend. 

Collecting a singles win yesterday, Canete added another today against Illinois. This triumph would equal five wins for the senior for the weekend, with more play scheduled for tomorrow. 

Mizzou will begin the last day of play of the H-E-B Invitational tomorrow at 9 a.m. with doubles matches versus Nebraska with singles matches against Denver beginning at 10 a.m.

UP NEXT

Mizzou will continue the 2023 fall season with the ITA Regionals starting on Thursday, Oct. 12. Lawrence, Kan. Meanwhile, senior Mae Canete will compete at the ITA All-American Championship, with her first match on Monday, Oct. 8, in Cary, N.C.
