Tennis Closes Day One of the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open


FORT WORTH, Texas — University of Missouri tennis wraps up day one of competition on Thursday, Oct. 31 in the Lone Star State for the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open, hosted by TCU at the Texas Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

Mizzou opened the day with singles action against the Horned Frogs with graduate student Lailaa Bashir taking her match to the third set against Helena Narmont. After battling in the final set, Bashir was not able to hold on, dropping 6-4, 0-6, 10-8.

Closing out day one with doubles matches against Texas Tech, the duo senior Inah Canete and freshman Korina Roso grabbed a 6-3 victory against the Red Raider’s Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Andreea Lila. 

The Tigers are slated to open day two of play with singles against Texas A&M and Texas Tech, concluding the afternoon with additional singles matches against Cincinnati. 

UP NEXT

After closing the fall schedule in Fort Worth, the Tigers will open their spring slate with the FIU Hidden Duals in Miami, Fla. The Black and Gold will begin play on Jan. 9 and wrap up competition on Jan. 12 at PayCargo Tennis Complex.
