Tennis' Canete Sisters Begin Play at the ITA National Fall Championships


SAN, DIEGO, Calif. – University of Missouri doubles pair Mae Canete and Inah Canete are to kick off their run at the ITA National Fall Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center, scheduled to start play on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and closing out the competition on Sunday, Nov. 5. 

In the seventh year of the event, the ITA National Fall Championships closed out the fall collegiate tennis season and selected 64 of the top singles (32 men and 32 women) and doubles teams (32 men and 32 women). 

M. Canete and I. Canete are coming off a strong finish in the ITA Central Regional Championships in Lawrence, Kan., winning four straight matches before falling to the University of Oklahoma in the doubles semifinal round. 

The duo will face off against Phoebe Peus and Lindsey Hofflander of Brown University on Nov. 1 at 1:15 p.m. and will play one round of doubles each day of the tournament. Players will also be granted a complete back draw for teams that lose on the opening day of play.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will travel up north to attend the Drake Invite in Des Moines, Iowa, hosted by Drake University to compete Friday, Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 5.
