KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off a season that saw the Tennessee men’s tennis team make a second consecutive NCAA semifinals appearance and finish with an end-of-year ITA national ranking of No. 6, head coach Chris Woodruff announced the Vols’ 2022 fall schedule Wednesday.
Tennessee boasts plenty of experience, with six graduate students and a pair of seniors accounting for nearly three quarters of the 11-man roster. In all, UT returns seven players from the 2021-22 squad, including 2022 ITA All-Americans Johannus Monday and Pat Harper, as well as All-SEC Second Team selections Emile Hudd and Shunsuke Mitsui. UT adds four incoming transfers in Gabriele Brancatelli, Kent Hunter, Boris Kozlov and Tomas Rodriguez.
The Vols open the 2022 fall slate at the Orlando Fall Shootout, which runs Sept. 9-11 at the USTA National Campus.
Tennessee welcomes Columbia, Illinois, MTSU and North Carolina to Rocky Top for the Knoxville Showdown, a weekend event taking place Sept. 16-18.
The 2022 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, run Oct. 1-9. Louisville is the host site of this fall’s ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, running Oct. 13-17.
Various members of Tennessee’s squad will compete in four ITF Futures tournaments this fall—Lubbock $15K Future (Sept. 19-25), Harlingen $25K Future (Oct. 17-23), Tallahassee $15K Future (Oct. 24-30) and the Fayetteville $15K Future (Oct. 31-Nov 5).
Fall action concludes with the annual Knoxville Challenger at Goodfriend Tennis Center, running Nov. 5-13.
