SEATTLE – A quick turnaround after this past weekend’s Pac-12 victories takes the Huskies down to San Diego for a rescheduled Tuesday dual with the Toreros. No. 21 Washington (12-3) puts its six-match winning streak on the line against a very tough USD squad that has been as high as No. 17 in the nation this season. First serve at the Hogan Tennis Center is set for 1:30 p.m.

The match was originally set for a neutral site in Waco, Texas a few weeks back, but San Diego was unable to make that trip. The Huskies then decided to spend spring break in San Diego.

San Diego is 44th but has been as high as 17th and the Toreros made it to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle thanks to Kickoff Weekend wins over Georgia Tech and California. San Diego went 0-3 in Seattle but had a tight 4-3 loss to Auburn. USD also had a 4-3 loss to USC and a 5-2 loss to Arizona State. In the rankings, which will be updated on Tuesday, Solymar Colling is No. 59 in singles nationally and Kailey Evans is No. 66. Abigail Desiatnikov also ranks No. 102. In doubles, Evans and Elizabeth Goldsmith rank 13th.

The Dawgs are coming off two home wins over Arizona State and Arizona to get to 4-0 in Pac-12 play and 12-3 overall. Sunday, the Huskies held off a big challenge from U of A, getting four singles wins from Jennifer Kerr, Hikaru Sato, Erika Matsuda, and finally from Astrid Olsen to pull out a 4-3 win.

After Tuesday’s match, the Huskies will be off until Apr. 2 when they’ll be back home to host Oregon.
