No. 23 Men's Tennis Drops Semifinal Match to No. 20 Stanford


CALIFORNIA– Fourth seed in the Pac-12 Tournament, No. 23 Arizona State men’s tennis (17-9, 4-2) fell 5-1 to first-seeded and No. 20-ranked Stanford (17-5, 7-1) in the semifinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Sun Devils won the doubles point, but could not take any singles points from the Cardinal. 

The pair of Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone improved to 11-1 on the season after taking down Stanford’s 49th-ranked pair in Max Basing and Nico Godsick. Their 6-1 win was the first finish of the day and allowed the Sun Devils to take the doubles point.

After all six Sun Devils fell in the first sets, and the Cardinal capitalized, winning four singles matches and clinching the match 5-1.

  6. Constantinos Koshis (ASU) vs. Hudson Rivera (STAN) 1-6, 2-6, 2-3

Doubles Competition:

Up Next: 

The Sun Devils await the NCAA Tournament selection. The 2024 NCAA DI men’s tennis championship begins with selections on Monday, April 29 in a selection show for teams on NCAA.com at 6 p.m. ET. Individual championship competitors will later be announced in a NCAA.com press release on Tuesday, April 30.

The championship then gets underway May 3-4 with the first and second rounds of the team competition. Final site action includes the quarterfinals through the championship final May 16-25 at Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Singles competition beginning May 20 and the doubles competition beginning May 21 will also take place at the final site.
