TEMPE, Ariz. – Ole Miss Men’s Tennis (16-12, 4-8 SEC) remained at No. 32 this week in the ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. No. 1 Singles player Nikola Slavic achieved a new career-best ranking for the second week in a row, improving to No. 14 in the ITA Singles Rankings on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point are the final ITA rankings released prior to the NCAA Team Championships. The ultimate team rankings for the 2022 season will be released on May 25, followed by the final singles and doubles rankings on June 2.
The Rebels remained ranked No. 32 in the country this week. Ole Miss received 24.85 points in the computerized rankings. The Rebels are one of nine SEC programs to rank in the ITA top-35.
Slavic improved three positions in the ITA Singles Rankings this week from No. 17 up to No. 14. Slavic achieved a new career-high ranking despite not competing in any matches over the previous week. Slavic has earned a combined 22-12 singles record in 2021-22. The Ole Miss Junior was voted to the All-SEC First Team this season.
Finn Reynolds and Lukas Engelhardt re-entered the ITA top-20 in doubles this week at No. 19. The Rebel duo improved six rankings from their previous position of No. 25 one week ago. Reynolds and Engelhardt peaked in the ITA Doubles Rankings at No. 2 this season. The pairing has compiled a 12-10 overall record this season.
Per the NCAA’s release yesterday, both Slavic and the team of Engelhardt and Reynolds received at-large berths into the NCAA Individual Championships, beginning May 23.
