Men’s Tennis | February 14, 2023

THIS WEEK
The University of Southern California’s men’s tennis team’s quest for a fifth ITA National Team Indoor Championship will begin on Friday against the No. 10 seed UNC. The Trojans are seeded seventh in the 16-team field and will meet the 10th-seeded Tar Heels in the first round on Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. Central Time) at the XS Tennis Village in Chicago, Illinois.

A first-round win would advance the Trojans into a Saturday, Feb. 18 quarterfinal clash with either No. 2 seed Kentucky or No. 15 seed Florida. Semifinals take place on Sunday (Feb. 19), with the championship match set for Monday (Feb. 20).

ABOUT ITA INDOORS
Featuring 16 of the top teams from across the NCAA Division I level, the ITA Division I Men’s Indoor Championship has been a staple of the collegiate tennis landscape since it first began back in 1973.

Hosted by the University of Illinois, this year’s field will include 13 of the Top 15 teams in the Feb. 8 ITA Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings.

Ohio State comes in as the top seed, followed by Kentucky. Across all of the participating teams, it is the SEC that paces all conferences, having five representatives competing in this year’s tournament. Just behind the SEC are the ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten, which each have three teams competing. USC and Stanford will represent the Pac-12.

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the championship match being played on Monday, February 20, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.

All teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

A TrackTennis live stream, as well as Tennis-Ticker live scoring, will be available for every match at the 2023 Division I Men’s Indoor Championship. The ITA is also proud to partner once again with Cracked Racquets to provide on-site commentary during the tournament. You can find the broadcast on the Cracked Racquets YouTube channel.
