No. 21 Alabama Records Seventh Straight Win with 6-1 Victory Against Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisc. –– With its seventh consecutive victory and second straight on the road, the No. 21 Alabama men’s tennis team (7-2) took a dominant 6-1 victory over Wisconsin (0-7) Sunday.

A win from Andrii Zimnokh and Filip Planinsek on court two, paired with a forfeit on court three, clinched the opening point of the match in favor of the Tide. Matic Dimic was awarded a win by forfeit on court six to move UA out to a 2-0 start. Victories from Matias Ponce De Leon and Enzo Aguiard on courts three and two, respectively, secured the overall team win. The Tide would also secure points from Roan Jones on court four and Yair Sarouk on court five before the match concluded.

“Solid performances this weekend. The guys were not happy with the way the match played out on Friday. So today, it was about finishing, and they did just that with good focus and intent. Now, we have a couple days to rest, recover, do laundry and head off to New York for indoor nationals. I’m excited for that trip and the challenges we’ll face there. This team is on a good path so we will continue to move the chains forward.”
