CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 20th-ranked California women’s tennis team fell to 10th-ranked North Carolina State, 4-0, on Sunday at the University of Miami’s Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Cal’s record now stands at 2-3. The Wolfpack improved to 5-1.
The Bears dropped the doubles point when N.C. State’s Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli defeated Cal’s Haley Giavara and Berta Passola Folch, 6-1, to clinch on court two.
The match ended when N.C. State’s Amelia Rajecki beat Cal sophomore Katja Wiersholm 6-1, 6-3 on court 3 to secure the result for the Wolfpack.
Cal returns to Berkeley to host San Diego State on Feb. 24 at the Hellman Tennis complex.
