NC State jumps back in ACC play with home match versus Notre Dame


RALEIGH The NC State men’s tennis team hopes to start another winning streak on Friday.
 
Texas ended the Wolfpack streak at six last week in Austin with a 4-3 win.
 
NC State (10-5, 4-0) hopes to not only get back on track, but remain perfect in the ACC when they welcome Notre Dame to town on Friday (5:30 pm). History is on the side of the Pack. NC State has won five in a row against the Fighting Irish. 

 
Last time out: The Wolfpack came up short at No. 3 Texas, falling to the Longhorns 4-3. Rafa Izquierdo Luque pulled off a major upset for NC State, knocking off No. 1 Eliot Spizzirri, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0. Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli beat the No. 3 doubles duo of Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper, 6-3.
 
Pack in the Rankings:  NC State comes in at No. 25 in the latest ITA Rankings. The doubles duo of Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli were ranked No. 27, while Joe Wayand and Rafa Izquierdo Luque were ranked No. 40. On the singles side Izquierdo Luque is ranked No. 52 and Staeheli came in at No. 73.
 
Scouting the Fighting Irish: Notre Dame (10-8, 1-4) is ranked No. 50 in the latest ITA rankings. Sebastian Dominko is their highest ranked singles player, coming in at No. 24. Dominko and Connor Fu are ranked No. 16 in doubles.
