LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Penn State men’s tennis team completed Day 2 at the Liberty Hidden Dual, competing in eight singles and four doubles matches versus the Liberty Flames on Saturday evening.
SINGLES
Sam Bossem opened Penn State’s Hidden Dual against Liberty with a win over Christaan Worst, 7-6(5), 6-2. Following that up, Miko Eala lost to Rafael Marques Da Silva 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-4 and Zion Heaven overcame Penn State’s Harrison Janes 6-1, 6-1.
Charl Morgan fell to Josh Wilson 6-3, 6-3, before Malik Bhatnagar was defeated by Beau Pelletier 6-4, 6-2. Pranav Nemani was felled by Liberty’s Thando Longwe-Smit, 6-2, 6-4. Rounding out singles, Ismail Saadi was routed 6-2, 6-3 by the Flames’ Deji Thomas-Smith.
DOUBLES
In doubles, partners Bhatnagar and Bossem triumphed over Pelletier and Heaven 7-5. Duo Eala and Morgan fell to Wilson and Worst of Liberty 6-1, while Saadi and Nemani were defeated by Thomas-Smith and Marques Da Silva 6-3. Finishing out doubles action, Paduraru and Janes lost 6-2 to Longwe-Smith and El Kadi.
