LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee picked up its first top-10 win of the season, defeating ninth-ranked Columbia in convincing fashion Friday, 4-1.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
Tennessee (13-6, 3-2 SEC) faces Texas A&M (11-7, 4-2 SEC) as the halfway point of its SEC schedule arrives. The Vols are 8-12 against the Aggies all-time, dating to 1974. Still, Tennessee has won three straight matches in the series, including a pair of 4-0 shutouts in 2021 and 2022.
The Aggies serve as the opponent in Tennessee’s 20th match for a second consecutive season. Additionally, Texas A&M travels to Knoxville having won each of its last five matches, three of which were over SEC foes (Mississippi State, Arkansas and Alabama).
This year’s March 26 clash with the Aggies succeeds last season’s March 25 battle between the squads in College Station, Texas. Sunday marks one year and one day since Tennessee’s dramatic, 4-3, come-from-behind win over Texas A&M on the road. The Vols trailed 0-3 before winning each of the remaining four singles courts. That win shaped the trajectory of the remainder of Tennessee’s season, as UT was victorious in 12-of-14 matches starting with that comeback win.
