Huskers Head to Illinois, Northwestern


The No. 68 Nebraska women’s tennis team (14-8, 3-6 Big Ten) travels to face No. 34 Illinois on Saturday at 11 a.m. before matching up with No. 70 Northwestern on Sunday at noon. Both matches are in central time and streaming/stats information will be on huskers.com. Updates for the matches will also be posted on Twitter at HuskerWTennis.

Scouting Illinois 

• Illinois finished its 2021-22 season with an overall record of 16-9, including an 8-3 record in conference play. 

• Evan Clark is in his seventh year at the helm of the Illinois women’s tennis program. 

• Ashley Yeah is ranked No. 72 in singles play. Katherine Duong and Megan Heuser is ranked No. 7 as a doubles team. 

• Illinois has one freshman, three sophomores, one junior and three seniors. 

Series History with Illinois

• NU has a 5-7 overall record with Illinois. The last time the teams met on the court, Illinois defeated Nebraska in a close match, 4-3. 

Scouting Northwestern

• Northwestern completed the 2021-22 season with an overall record of 14-10, including an 8-3 conference record.

• Christina Hand is ranked No. 111 in singles. Christina Hand and Justine Leong are ranked No. 39 as a doubles duo. 

• The Wildcats have a roster of one first-year student, three sophomores, two juniors and two seniors. 

Series History with Northwestern

• The Huskers have a 2-12 overall record against Northwestern. The teams matched up last in 2022 and the Huskers dropped the match 4-3.
