FORT WORTH, Texas – On the road against a ranked foe for the second consecutive match, No. 15 Stanford men’s tennis fell to No. 5 TCU, 5-2, on Friday at the Indoor Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
Nishesh Basavareddy earned a win over a top-250 opponent in the world, winning 7-6, 6-2 in the top position. The win marked his season debut for the Cardinal after playing in professional events during the fall quarter. Neel Rajesh added a win on court six, coming from behind for a 5-7, 6-3, 10-5 victory. The win was Rajesh’s fifth of the season.
TCU claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts, and clinched the match with three straight wins on courts two, four and three, respectively.
Stanford returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 12:30 p.m. PT against No. 4 Texas.
