How did you first get involved in tennis?

I first began playing tennis around three years old. My parents put me in a tiny tots tennis program and I loved it. I played multiple sports growing up, but tennis was the sport that I consistently enjoyed. I began competing at eight years old.

What has been the best advice a coach has given you?

The best advice I have received from a coach is to only focus on the “controllables”. On the court, it is easy to get frustrated by outside factors, like weather, score, or your opponent, but the only things you can really control are your attitude and your effort.

Who do you model your game after?

I mostly model my game after Caroline Wozniacki. From a young age, I have admired her composure and ability to outlast her opponents.

What was your favorite tournament that you competed in before VT?

My favorite tournament, prior to competing at VT, was a 16 and under L2 in Rome, GA. I always enjoy playing at the tennis center in Rome, but in this particular tournament, my best friend and I reached the finals in doubles and I placed 4th in singles. It was a great weekend of competition.

What is one thing you are hoping to accomplish this season?

I am hoping to contribute to the team both on and off the court. To do this, I would like to approach competition with confidence and end the season with a higher wins to losses ratio,

while also supporting my teammates as much as possible.
