Gators Ranked Thirteenth in ITA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll


The 2023 campaign begins against No. 8 Texas on Jan. 15 at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men’s tennis program begins the spring 2023 season ranked No. 13 in the Division I ITA Collegiate Tennis Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Wednesday morning.
 
With head coach Bryan Shelton at the helm, the Gators have been ranked among the Top 25 of the ITA Preseason Poll in all 11 seasons.
 
Florida is set to face 11 ranked opponents during the 2023 campaign, including seven from the SEC to lead all conferences. Florida opens the spring against No. 8 Texas in Gainesville, Fla. on Jan. 15 at 12 p.m.
 
An impressive fall season – 20 doubles wins and 65 singles wins – prepared the young, talented team for the 2023 campaign. The team returns three letterwinners and added six newcomers.
 
The Gators finished their 2022 season with a 26-3 overall record, a perfect 12-0 SEC record, an SEC Tournament title, an undefeated 13-0 record at home and a 21-3 record over ranked opponents.
