RALEIGH Four members of the No. 25 NC State men’s tennis team were named All-ACC for their efforts this season.

The conference announced its All-ACC selections on Monday.

Sophomore Luca Staeheli was voted to the All-ACC singles third team. Staeheli, who is No. 83 in the most recent ITA rankings, was named All-ACC for a second straight season. He was also the league’s Freshman of the Year last season.

Staeheli was also named All-ACC doubles second team with partner Robin Catry. The duo currently sits at No. 19 in the ITA. Rafa Izquierdo Luque and Joe Wayand were named All-ACC doubles third team.

Staeheli went 7-3 in ACC, mosting in the No. 2 singles spot. He finished the spring 12-6 overall. The Wollerau, Switzerland native put together a nice winning streak to start ACC play, with five consecutive league wins. In the middle of that streak he also knocked off Siem Woldeab of Texas, who was ranked No. 18 at the time.

As a duo, Catry and Staeheli went 10-5 in the No. 1 doubles slot and 4-0 at No. 2. On March 14 they knocked off Eliot Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper of Texas, the No. 3 ranked duo at the time.

Izquierdo Luque and Wayand are currently ranked No. 22 in the ITA. They were perfect against ranked opponents this season in ACC action. Izquierdo Luque and Wayand also won the ITA Regional title in October.

Next, the Wolfpack await their NCAA destination. The NCAA selection show is Monday at 6:30 pm.
