Utah Welcomes Nicolas Calixto to 2024-25 Roster


SALT LAKE CITY –  The University of Utah men’s tennis head coach, Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Nicolas Calixto who is set to join the Utes for the 2024-25 season. 

“It is a blessing to be joining the Utah program,” Calixto said. “I am excited to join the Ute family and be able to represent the University of Utah in collegiate competition. I chose Utah because they offer great academics and I felt it was the best program for me to develop my tennis game especially seeing how passionate the coaches are in improving student athletes as players and people.” 

Calixito, a Cathedral City, Calif. native, is will join the Utes as a transfer from Redlands University where he played his freshman season. He will join the Utes as a sophomore in the 2024-25 season. He competed all at the No. 1 spot this season and posted a 17-8 record. He had a nine match win streak this season winning 10 of his last 11 matches. He had a 21-4 doubles record on the season and started the year out 8-0. He helped Redlands to a No. 15 Division III ranking in the ITA.
