DURHAM – Duke landed 10 selections on the 68-member 2023 All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis team as announced by the ACC on Wednesday.
Senior Andrew Zhang received the honor for the third consecutive season, while Andrew Dale, Faris Khan, Connor Krug and Niroop Vallabhaneni each earned acknowledgment for the second time in their careers.
The Blue Devils had five student-athletes receive recognition for the first time in their Blue Devil tenure. Duke’s first-time picks were Michael Heller, Garrett Johns, Jake Krug, Pedro Rodenas, and Teddy Truwit.
Duke’s 10 honorees were the most in the league and set a Blue Devil program record, breaking the previous mark of six achieved in 2006, 2018 and 2022.
Boston College, Louisville, and Virginia trailed Duke with seven selections, followed by Notre Dame (6), Virginia Tech (6), Georgia Tech (5), Miami (5), N.C. State (5), Florida State (4), Clemson (3), Wake Forest (2), and North Carolina (1).
To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
