Cougars Continue Strong Start at Gonzaga Invitational


SPOKANE, Wash. (Sept. 24, 2022) – The Washington State Tennis team continued its strong start to the 2022 Fall season by posting eight wins in nine matches on the second day of play at the Gonzaga Invitational Saturday at the Sevens Center.
 
The Gonzaga Invitational is played in a hidden dual format, where six singles matches are contested against one school and three doubles matches against another. The Cougars’ second day saw them face Portland in singles and Gonzaga in doubles.
 
In singles action, WSU had no troubles sweeping all six matches in straight sets. In doubles action, the Cougars won two of three matches.
 
Play concludes Sunday as the Cougars will face Gonzaga in singles and New Mexico in doubles.
