Carolina Sees Multiple Winners On Tuesday

CARY, N.C. – After three rounds of qualifying, two Tar Heels qualified for the ITA Women’s All-American Championship Main Draw on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Scotty and Anika Yarlagadda each recorded victories while teammate Reilly Tran fell in the round of 64.

Scotty later decided to walkover, ending her run.

In the singles consolation bracket, three Tar Heels bounced back after losses yesterday. Abbey Forbes and freshman Thea Rabman each recorded straight-set victories while Carson Tanguilig picked up a hard-fought three set win. Junior Lindsey Zink dropped her consolation bracket matchup.

This past weekend, Thea Rabman went 3-0 to clinch a spot in the pre-qualifying round before dropping her first match yesterday in the qualifying round.

The Tar Heels will finish out the week in the ITA All-American Championships in Cary before hosting the ITA Carolina Regional Championships beginning October 19th at the Chewning Tennis Center.
