SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Duke women’s tennis duo of Chloe Beck and Cameron Morra are set to open action in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Fall Championship, which will be contested at the Barnes Tennis Center Nov. 2-6 in San Diego, Calif.
A product of Watkinsville, Ga., Beck will take on second-seeded and seventh-ranked Connie Ma of Stanford at 12 p.m. (ET), on Wednesday. Beck is coming off winning five straight matches at regionals to advance to nationals and has collected an 8-2 singles ledger this season.
Morra, who is from Rockville, Md., will face 49th-ranked Savannah Broadus of Pepperdine in the round of 32 at 12 p.m., Wednesday. The Duke graduate student advanced to the singles final at regionals, before falling in a tough, 3-set battle. Morra owns an 8-4 record so far this fall and received a wild card invitation for nationals.
In doubles action, Beck and Morra will kick off action Wednesday versus 47th-ranked Daria Kuczer and Eleonora Molinaro of Tennessee. Beck/Morra have registered an 11-2 ledger so far this season.
