Beck Earns ACC Co-Player of the Week Honors


DURHAM – Coming off an impressive weekend of action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Team Indoors, Duke women’s tennis senior Chloe Beck was tabbed the ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday. Β 

A product of Watkinsville, Ga., Beck recorded a 3-0 weekend at the No. 1 singles position to help lead Duke to a pair of victories against sixth-ranked Stanford and Washington.Β  Beck registered an impressive win over Stanford’s third-ranked Connie Ma, 6-4, 6-3, as the Blue Devils won, 4-3, as a team.Β  Her two-set victory over Washington clinched the match for Duke. Beck and her partner, Cameron Morra, were leading all three of their doubles matches, 4-2, 4-3, 5-3, before the doubles point was clinched.

Beck received the honor along with North Carolina’s Anika Yarlagadda.

The weekly honor marks the second time a Blue Devil has received the ACC Player of the Week nod as Morra earned the honor on Jan. 31. Β 

Duke will next travel to Blacksburg, Va., to face Virginia Tech in the ACC opener on Feb. 24 at 1 p.m.
