South Bend, IN – The Hokies fell in a close match to no. 21 Notre Dame 5-2 on Sunday, February 25.
Tech took the doubles point as Semra Aksu and Erika Cheng grabbed a 6-3 win over Page Freeman and Nibi Ghosh. Charlotte Cartledge and Özlem Uslu helped secure the point with a 6-3 win over Yashna Yellayi and Bojana Pozder.
On Court 6, Aksu dominantly swept Akari Matsuno, winning 6-1, 6-2 to secure the only singles win of the afternoon for the Hokies.
Laima Frosch fell in a three-set match to Carrie Beckman. She dropped the first set 6-4 before returning to win the second set 6-2. Frosch lost 6-1 in the final set.
Uslu lost in a three-set match to Julia Andreach. She won the first set 6-1, before falling in the second two sets, 6-4, 6-0.
Radulova dropped a three-set match to Ghosh. After winning the first set 6-2, she fell in the second set 6-3 and the third set 6-1.
