Men’s Tennis Drops Match At St. John’s

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Penn State men’s tennis team fell to St. John’s, 4-0, in its first road match of the season. The Nittany Lions are now 4-4 this season.

DOUBLES

Alexander Sterin and Ritvik Nadikude took to court at No. 3, facing Carl Gustavsson and Martin Bugaji. The Blue and White dropped their match 6-1. Jack Martuccio and Ari Cotoulas played together at No. 2, but fell to Leon Petko and Ignacio Vinas, 6-1.

Pairing together at No.1, Stefan Simeunovic and Nolan Ranger played against Franciso Bascon and Leonardo Mileikowsky. The match went unfinished, as the Doubles point was already determined.

SINGLES

Playing at No. 2, Ranger moved up to play Gustavsson. Ranger fell 6-0, 6-4 in a tough match. At No. 5, Sterin put up a battle, but dropped his match, 6-2, 6-1, to Ryota Kaneda. Nadikude played at No. 6, but fell to Danilo Raicevic 6-2, 6-1.

Simuenovic played at No. 1 Singles against Bugaj, winning his first set, 7-6, but the match went unfinished. At No. 3, Martuccio dropped his first set against Marco Cinotti. Ari Cotoulas took the No. 4 court and was heading into his second set after dropping a 6-4 set against Mileikowsky.
