SAN DIEGO — Célia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee saw their run come to an and at the ITA National Fall Championship, but Vanderbilt women’s tennis answered with a 7-0 mark from five individuals competing at the Auburn Invite.
After picking up wins each of the last two days, Mohr and Lee fell to a pair from North Carolina in the semifinals of the consolation bracket at the Barnes Tennis Center. The two dropped the first set, but rallied to force a super tiebreaker before exiting the tournament.
At the Auburn Invite, five Dores competing at the Yarbrough Tennis Center combined to go 7-0 in singles and doubles action on the second day of the event. Not only did the group of Holly Staff, Amy Stevens, Sonya Macavei, Naomi Katz and Valeria Ray go undefeated against opponents from Alabama, Clemson and Penn State, they did not drop a set.
