KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women’s tennis team returns to the courts as it welcomes players from select squads to compete in the 2023 UT Home Invitational this Friday through Sunday.
The tournament gets underway at 10 a.m. Friday at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
“We’ve been running this tennis tournament since long before I was in school here, and it always proves to be an outstanding event,” said head coach Alison Ojeda.
The three-day competition will feature members from four teams across the country. Kentucky, Ohio State, Virginia and Princeton will all make the trip to Rocky Top.
Along with Tennessee, Ohio State and Virginia also finished in the top 25 of the ITA’s 2023 spring rankings. The Buckeyes came in at No. 10, while the Cavaliers finished at No. 12.
“We have quality teams with players who are all working really hard to excel at their craft,” Ojeda added. “As a fan, you’re guaranteed to see some excellent tennis this weekend. As a player, you’re guaranteed to improve a ton to the level of competition that will be out on the court. For our team in particular, I’m really excited to see us compete together. It’s going be a fun weekend.”
