CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After the final point of the 2023 ITA Carolina Regional Championships, the North Carolina women’s tennis team placed two doubles pairs and three singles players in the 2023 ITA Fall Championships in San Diego.

Reese Brantmeier and Anika Yarlagadda each picked up singles wins in the final round on Monday morning to solidify their spot in California.

Reilly Tran, the winner of the 2023 Milwaukee Tennis Classic in September, will also be competing in San Diego after winning the prestigious fall tournament.

Yesterday, Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty defeated NC State’s Sophie Abrams and Anna Zyryanova 7-5, 6-1 to win the A1 bracket. In the A2 bracket, Abbey Forbes and Tran defeated Wake Forest’s Maryam Ahmad and Sankavi Gownder 6-1, 6-1 to join their teammates in San Diego.

Brantmeier and Tran will compete in both singles and doubles at the Fall Championships.

The 2023 ITA Fall Championships are set to begin Wednesday, November 1 in San Diego, Calif.
