Three Bulldogs Selected Academic All-District

STARKVILLE – Three members of Mississippi State’s men’s tennis team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

Ewen Lumsden, Nemanja Malesevic and Gregor Ramskogler are all representing the Bulldogs thanks to their outstanding dedication in the classroom. It is Ramskogler’s fourth time to earn a spot on the Academic All-District Team while Lumsden and Malesevic had been on it in back-to-back years.

Ramskogler graduated from MSU last spring with a degree in kinesiology-sport administration with a 3.79 overall grade point average. The native of Reichraming, Austria has sported a perfect 4.0 GPA as a graduate student and will earn his master’s degree in sports administration this weekend.

On the court, Ramskogler is the school’s all-time leader in dual match doubles wins with 64 and his 86 overall doubles wins ranks third in MSU history. He has also racked up 79 career singles victories, including a 17-11 mark this season.

Lumsden joined the Bulldogs after graduating from Washington with a degree in education. During his time at State, the Glasgow, Scotland native has earned a 3.66 GPA while taking post-graduate classes.

Lumsden also ranks third on the team with a 19-7 dual match singles record and has a 23-9 singles record overall. He is currently ranked 95^th nationally in singles.

Malesevic has maintained a 3.59 GPA this year while pursuing his undergraduate degree in kinesiology-sport administration. The junior from Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the highest-ranked Bulldog on the court, coming in at No. 78 in singles and has played at the top of the lineup all season.

Malesevic is also one-half of both of Mississippi State’s ranked doubles duos with Carles Hernandez (68) and Michal Novansky (81). Additionally, he leads the Bulldogs with 12 victories over ranked opponents (seven singles, five doubles) and has a team-best six match clinchers.

Lumsden, Malesevic and Ramskogler are all eligible to be CSC Academic All-Americans. That announcement will be made on May 31.

Those three Bulldogs will continue their seasons this weekend as No. 16 MSU travels to second-ranked TCU for the NCAA Championships Round of 16 on Saturday at 3 p.m.
