NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Doubles shined for the Purdue women’s tennis team on the first day of the June Stewart Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt.
The Boilermakers shined in doubles with three solid wins to start the weekend. Freshman Kennedy Gibbs and redshirt senior Liz Norman logged a 6-3 win. Freshman Ashlie Wilson and sophomore Juana Larranaga also ended the day with a 6-3 win.
Sophomore Carmen Gallarado and Tara Katarina Milic went on a run to win their match 6-2.
Wilson and Larranaga also ended the day with a singles win each at 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 respectively. Junior Rut Galindo brought home the final singles win of the day at 6-0, 6-4.
