CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The NCAA Championship run continues for Virginia’s doubles team of Melodie Collard and Elanie Chervinsky, as the Cavaliers’ duo used all three sets to secure a win in the semifinals and advance to the championship match of the 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Individual Doubles Championship at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
The tandem of Collard and Chervinsky will play the UCLA doubles pair of Olivia Center and Kate Fakih in the championship match on Sunday, November 24, at noon ET on ESPN+.
This is the first year of a two-year plan for the singles and doubles championships to be conducted in the fall, with the team championships continuing to be held in the spring.
In the semifinals of doubles play on Saturday, Collard and Chervinsky overcame a dreadful first set to storm back and record a 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 three-set win over Rachel Gailis and Alicia Dudeney of Florida.
All four of Collard and Chervinsky’s wins in the NCAA Doubles Championship have been in three sets – 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 in the Round of 32; 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 in Round of 16; 6-0, 0-6, 10-7 in the Quarterfinals; and 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the Semifinals.
The ACC women’s tennis players earned 15 ITA All-American honors in either singles or doubles at the 2024-25 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The complete list of All-American student-athletes will be announced at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season when all criteria have been exhausted.

- ITA All-American Singles Champion
- Advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships (November)
- Finishing in the Top 20 of the Final ITA Singles Rankings (May)
The criteria for earning ITA All-America Doubles honors include:
- ITA All-American Doubles Champion
- Advancing to the Quarterfinals at the NCAA Doubles Championships (November)
- Finishing in the Top 10 of the Final ITA Doubles Rankings (May)
