WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Logan Zapp led the way for North Carolina with two singles wins on Saturday, reaching the final of his draw at the Wake Forest Invite.
Zapp went 2-0 on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s final of the East A2 Singles Draw. He played well throughout the day at the Wake Forest Tennis Center and won both of his matches in straight sets, topping Alejandro Moreno of Auburn 6-1, 6-3 and Harry Thursfield of Wake Forest 6-1, 6-1.
Zapp will meet Sean Daryabeigi of South Carolina in Sunday’s final.
Also on Saturday, Will Peters reached the east semifinals of the A1 Singles Draw. He beat Oscar Pinto Sansano of VCU 7-5 in the quarterfinals before losing to Auburn’s Raul Dobai 6-1, 6-1 in the semis.
Peter Murphy dropped his A1 east quarterfinal to Franco Capalbo of Wake Forest in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6. Auburn’s Billy Blades beat Anuj Watane 6-4, 6-2 in an A2 east quarterfinal.
